Robust energy characterizes Music at Eden’s Edge’s June program. A vibrant start to the season, this concert features MEE’s New Music at the Edge for 2011 – the premiere of Stephen Kleiman’s Sonatine No.2, “Inner Dance” for Clarinet in B Flat and Piano, written for MEE clarinetist Stephen Bates. Powerfully charged, it makes a fitting companion to Charles Ives’ Largo for Violin, Clarinet and Piano. The beloved Dvorák Romantic Pieces for Violin and Piano, Op. 75, interject the deep lyrical energy of European folk music. The finale offers the charm and elegance of the Mozart Kegelstatt Trio, K. 498, featuring the expressive combination of Viola, Clarinet and Piano.
