String Quartets of Haydn, Carreño, and Barber
No age claims either passion or energy as its own. These are timeless marks of our humanity. In each of three brilliant quartets, Franz Josef Haydn Quartet in C Major, Op. 20 No. 2 (1772), Teresa Carreño Quartet in B Minor (1896) and Samuel Barber Quartet in B Minor, Op. 11 (1936), we experience a great passion set in the moment, emerging from its time and place, forever connected to ourselves. This is a concert not to be missed!
