Violist Amelia Hollander Ames, is a native of Jersey City, NJ, where she founded Con Vivo Music, a chamber music collective praised by the New York Times for its "delightful and expert playing." Since moving to the Boston area in 2013, Amelia has played with A Far Cry, BMOP, BPO, Orchestra of Indian Hill (where she plays principal), Radius Ensemble, the Portland Symphony and Rhode Island Philharmonic. She has performed and led workshops on several tours to Mexico with Cuerdas Oaxaca and Cultures in Harmony. From 2004-2007, Amelia was a member of the Israel Contemporary String Quartet and Tel Aviv Soloists Ensemble. International festivals include the Singapore Arts Festival, the Israel Festival, Keshet Eilon, Verbier, Schleswig-Holstein, and Prussia Cove. Amelia can be heard on recordings released on the Naive, New Amsterdam, Nonesuch and Tzadik labels. She holds degrees from Eastman and the New England Conservatory.
